Wine 1.7.16 released!

Wine 1.7.16 is released just now! The wine version will be build in an engine and will be available in “Winery“. Winery is a program where you can build wrappers with, and is available on the Wineskin website. I used Winery to build all my Wrappers for this website. The Wine engine itself isn’t available yet in Winery but will follow soon by the Wineskin developer (Doh123). When it is there download and test it with your games when interested! There were quite some regression test fixes implanted and better IDL compiler support. See more details below and on WineHQ.

The Wine development release 1.7.16 is now available.

What’s new in this release:

  • More regression test fixes.
  • String arrays better supported in the IDL compiler.
  • Initial stubs for DirectX Video Acceleration.
  • Various bug fixes.

Thief Gold for the Mac!

A very nice port for tonight! I already successfully ported Thief 2 – The Metal Age and the popular Thief 3 – Deadly Shadows games, and I am glad to add the first one of the series as well, to make it complete! Thief Gold includes Thief the Dark Project and the Gold update (three new campaign missions which deepen the plot and five new types of enemies). This game is this weekend on sale on GOG.com for only $3,99, so get it now when it is cheap! I posted below a game play video of the training tutorial to view the game play. Enjoy the game!

THIEF™ GOLD is a first-person perspective stealth game. It was the first game to use light and sound game play mechanics – different surfaces cause varying noise (for example carpets are quiet and ceramic tiles are very loud). You can use sound to your advantage – it’s not only your main source of information on how close your enemies are but you can use it to distract them, for example by throwing objects. With unscripted levels, and objectives and paths altered based on difficulty settings, THIEF™ GOLD can give you hours of non-repetitive game play.

The Elder Scrolls Online released for Mac!

Great news for the Elder Scrolls fans! The Elder Scrolls® Online has been released for the Mac on Gamersgate. This game really wants to compete with the successful online concept of World of Warcraft. Once players purchase the game, they will have unlimited access for the first 30 days and can continue beyond that with a subscription of $14.99/30 days (€12.99 / £8.99). The first 30 days begin at or after the official launch of the game when players select their preferred subscription plan. Subscription fees will only be charged after the first 30 days

The Elder Scrolls Online is the latest chapter of the award-winning franchise – and will bring the legendary experience online for the first time. Whether you play with your friends or adventure alone, the game’s innovative combat system allows you to focus on action and tactics, not the UI. Use any weapon or armor at any time and customize your abilities to play the way you want as you uncover the mysteries of Tamriel and seek heroic quests on your own terms. Explore the far reaches of Skyrim, the mysterious lands of Morrowind, the sprawling metropolis of Daggerfall and beyond. The choices you make, from the alliance you join to the battles you fight, will shape your destiny and the world of Tamriel.

RHEM Trilogy for the Mac!

Well, none guessed the game trilogy for tonight (or didn’t found Broken Sword 2 worthy to comment for). Anyway I hope you will like the RHEM Trilogy. Those games really remind me of Real Myst, exploring everything and solving puzzles. The next Episode (Rhem 4 – The Golden Fragments) is already available for for Mac, so if you like it, then you can get that Mac game from Gamersgate as well. I created a video for this trilogy which will explain all the steps to play those 3 RHEM games on your Mac! You can check the video tutorial below. Enjoy!

“By the time you see this message I will have been long gone from RHEM. If fate has kept you a prisoner here I can offer you the opportunity to return to your own world. But I will need your help. In RHEM is a letter I have written to my brother. If you help me get this letter to my brother ZETAIS I can help you get back to your world.”

Broken Age released for the Mac!

The first graphic adventure by Tim Schafer in sixteen years, Broken Age began two years ago in a historic, record-breaking Kickstarter campaign. Now it’s here in all its beautiful, 2D, hand-painted glory, with an original orchestral soundtrack and an all-star vocal cast. Broken Age is now available for Mac on GOG.com. Act 1 is available now, and the act 2 conclusion will arrive as a free update later this year! To view the game-play, check out the trailer below.

Broken Age is a timeless coming-of-age story of barfing trees and talking spoons. Vella Tartine and Shay Volta are two teenagers in strangely similar situations, but radically different worlds. The player can freely switch between their stories, helping them take control of their own lives, and dealing with the unexpected adventures that follow.

Antisquad released for the Mac!

Antisquad is a spectacular action game with a rich tactical palette and a substantial arsenal of gaming opportunities. The game takes place nowadays, in locations where an ordinary person is unlikely to have a desire to go … but precisely where any self-respected player would like to be!  The gameplay trailer mentioned below will give you an impression of the game. Antisquad is available for early access and is only $3,99! So really worth checking out!

Widely known in small circles as AntiSquad, they are a military tactical response unit. These hardened military professionals, tired of bureaucracy, politics and serving the armed forces, have established a private paramilitary formation located in south United States. Being true military professionals, they periodically execute contracts for jobs that may not be considered “clean”.

Super Puzzle Platformer Deluxe released for Mac on GOG.com!

I saw that Super Puzzle Platformer Deluxe has been released on GOG.com. This game was already released last year, but didn’t know of it’s existence and that there was a Mac version of the game. Well, now you know as well. If you love platform games and some action and some puzzles, then this one is really recommended. There is even a Local multiplayer versus mode, which makes it enjoyable for even your friends and family! If that is not all, the game is 50% off now this first week on GOG.com. The trailer below will show you some game-play to get introduced to the game.

The title says it all. Take one part falling block puzzle game, combine one part old-school platformer, add a couple thousand pixels, blend and serve. Why match colored blocks when you can just shoot the hell out of them? Your goal is to survive as long as you can in the single player, or the competitive multiplayer, or many challenges to help build your skills.
