This War of Mine released for Mac!

This War of Mine is the first game that lets you experience war not as a soldier, but as a group of civilians in a besieged city, struggling with a constant threat of disease, starvation and death, either from hardship, a sniper’s bullet or at the hands of bandits. Do whatever it takes to survive – without destroying your souls, if possible. This Mac game is available now on GOG.com  for $19.99. To get to know the game a bit, check out the trailer below.

The pace of the game is imposed by the day and night cycle. During the day snipers outside stop you from leaving your refuge, so you need to focus on maintaining your hideout: crafting, trading and taking care of survivors. At night, take one of your civilians on a mission to scavenge through a set of unique locations for items that will help you stay alive.

Retro City Rampage released for Mac!

Well, we saw this one coming. When I checked my GOG.com account I saw a few updates with also a Mac version for Retro City Rampage. This game worked native Windows already, so it’s quite logical that a more official Mac version was released in the end by GOG.com. I updated the game page to a Mac game page now because no Crosstie or Wrapper is needed anymore. Where this game is about? Check the trailer below to find out.

You are out on a lovely jaunt of CRIME CAPERS when you were ambushed by the EVIL GOOD GUYS, who will stop at nothing to end your RAMPAGE OF DOOM throughout Theftropolis City. Retro City Rampage is a parodic paean to old-school gaming and the culture of the 80’s, referencing many classic game experiences while providing modern-day open-world mechanics, all wrapped in glorious 8-bit graphical goodness.

Randal’s Monday released for Mac!

Randal’s Monday for Mac features cynical humor, geek culture references and classic point & click adventure gameplay at its best: The game pays tribute to a generation of gamers, readers and viewers of subculture media products. Players will find countless items and references to things they grew up with. Retro video gaming consoles, anyone? Your favorite movies and TV series from the 80s, 90s and 2000s? It’s all in there! Take your time and pixel-hunt each screen for everything that’s in there – whereas the adventure gameplay takes care to use all of today’s comfort features, of course.

After his friend Matt’s engagement party, waking up on a Monday morning with a massive hang over, Randal finds Matt’s wallet in his pocket. Inside the wallet, there’s that really precious engagement ring. It doesn’t take Randal much and long to sell the ring – triggering a fatal curse: Matt commits suicide, and Randal is now supposed to live through the same fateful Monday again and again, doing whatever is needed in order to fix the horrible situation. Randal must recover the one precious ring and his life, before the situation worsens… or the universe collapses.

Red Alert Wrapper update

Funkyfr3sh who created the Red Alert 1 Installer made specifically for this wrapper an other installer file which won’t require to change the start executable at the end of the installation anymore. This means it will be just double-click to install the game and another double-click to launch the game! So where are you waiting for! Made an updated video to show the new instructions below.

For OSX 10.9x Mavericks users in order to play the game, make sure to set the right security settings, or it will say the file is damaged or that the file is from an undefined developer. Download the wrapper –> extract and launch it by double-click and play! When the launcher is started go to the options and set it to these settings (Recommended). Enjoy!

Perimeter for Mac!

Perimeter for Mac challenges you to a race to acquire energy and create a new home for yourself in a newly discovered galaxy. Featuring strategic terraforming to acquire resources, the game lets you manipulate the landscape to extract energy, expand your base, increase covered territory and limit your opponents’ options. In turn, energy extraction provides power to units, buildings and protective force shields, making energy management and environmental awareness the key components to successful gameplay. I tested the game and works great on my Nvidia 640M Graphics Card. Played about 30 minutes without any problems. I made a video instruction including some game-play below. Have fun!

Before downloading the Wrapper, make sure security settings are set correctly when you have Mavericks OSX or higher. Then simply download the Wrapper below and extract the file and double-click the wrapper–> get and download Perimeter on GOG.com –> install windows software –> navigate to the gog.com installer file and double-click it –> Installing the game into the Wrapper and at the end of installation (after 2 or 3 error messages) click “exit”. On request, here a special Wrapper for The Vanishing of Ethan Carter! The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is a first-person story-driven mystery game that focuses entirely on exploration and discovery. It contains no combat or explosions of any kind. If the game leaves any scars, the game makers hope you won’t be able to see them. The game is tested on my Nvidia 640m iMac where it works quite well on the lowest settings. Even though the graphics are set on minimum the graphics look very good, so there should be no reason to not play it unless you don’t like the genre of course. A video including some game-play you will find below. Have fun!

A Bird Story released for Mac!

From the creator of To the Moon which I ported as well on the paulthetall.com website: The game A Bird Story for Mac is a simple, surreal short about a boy and a bird with a broken wing. Its sole purpose is to tell a story, and can be viewed as a narrative/animation with interactivity — but without a line of dialogue. The game will be only $4,99 and available on GOG.com. To get more introduced to the game check out the trailer below.

A Bird Story is a standalone game with its own beginning and endings; but for those who’s played To the Moon, the boy eventually grows up to become the next patient in the series.
