Akalabeth: World of Doom released freely for Mac released Akalabeth: World of Doom for the Mac today free of charge! It’s a gift of the original producer Richard Garriot. This game was firstly released in 1980, and yes, the images are certainly supporting that :P. However, this game brings a lot of nostalgia for many people. Besides that it is free! Many people will recognize the old game-play using the keyboard only typing “n” for north, “w” for west etc and see where you will end. Enjoy this old gem!

‘Tis said that long ago peace and tranquility covered the lands. Food and drink flowed freely, man and beast lived in peace, gold and silver abounded – it was the Golden Age of Akalabeth. There arose from the land a man, pure and just, to battle the Dark Lord. British, Champion of the White Light, did battle with Mondain deep within the labyrinth of dungeons, eventually driving him from Akalabeth forever. British of the White Light was proclaimed Lord British, Protector of Akalabeth. Alas, much damage had been suffered unto the lands. The Revival of Akalabest has begun.

Realms of Arkania 3 – Shadows over Riva Classic released for Mac!

I bought Realms of Arkania 3 on Gamersgate (steam serial) today (for $0,80 was 80% off) to port it to the Mac. However it seemed that Gamersgate forgot to mention on the site that the game was already released for Mac on Steam and also on as well. It was quite obvious because it is a DOSbox game. Anyway, the steam serial can be added to your Mac Steam account and tehn it is a matter of download and play ;) I always recommend the game above the Steam game because the version is not “game-client depended”. For the fans, enjoy the game on your Mac!

Something sinister lurks in the seaside town of Riva. An evil force has subverted the city’s leaders, and evil things lurk in the town’s sewers. Explore the huge city, dungeons and even underwater regions in stunningly detailed 3D. Adjustable difficulty levels make the game as simple or as detailed as you like.

Sacred Tears TRUE for Mac!

From the creaters of the very popular game Yume Nikki, this game hits the stores now! Sacred Tears TRUE brings both traditional JRPG elements and fresh and unique features such as a deceptively simple but deep card battle system, redistributable skill points, and graphics by Takashi KONNO (Shichinin no Bukiya) and music by Hiroyuki Ojima (Accel World, When They Cry anime) and Shimotsuki Haruka (Atelier Iris, Ace Attorney Orchestral Performance). Seil and his childhood friend Seana are neophyte thieves in the Thieves Guild of Genoseed City. By day they operate a private investigator agency, and by night they undertake Thieves Guild missions across the city. Sacred Tears TRUE is the story of these young thieves and their pursuit of dreams and adventure. This game works very nice on my one hour tests on my Nvidia 640M iMac. In the video below you can see the visual instructions + a little bit of game-play.

Before downloading the wrapper, make sure security settings are set correctly when you have Mavericks OSX or higher. Then simply download the Steambuild1 Wrapper below and extract the file and launch the Steam Wrapper –> login into the Windows Steam –> activate the serial you got from Gamersgate and download the game –>  then click play! For more info about porting go up here…

Note: The game itself works awesome, however, when playing fullscreen there is a bit of screen-tearing, so if this annoys you, then play windowed, and there will be no problems at all in my tests.

Video Tutorial Industry Giant 2 + review!

Here the review + the video tutorial of Industry Giant 2 Gold. It took a bit longer because all the other work which needed to be done, but finally here we are. Alright, I added the video tutorial on the main game blog post and below so you can see the step by step instructions of the installation and everything around it. I played the game myself for about 30 minutes because I start straight with the campaign without the tutorial, so I lost track about what I primarily needed to do and went almost out of money :P While I was playing I could at least test some things, like speed, saving and loading and such. And the first thing I noticed was the software cursor which was “shivering” a bit. Not that worrying, but it might get annoying, so I found out if you turn off the software cursor in the in-game options, you get rid of that. For the rest the speed of the game is good, even in high resolution, so I was glad about that. For the rest I couldn’t really find any issues in the campaign mode what is notable worthy.

Then I checked quickly the tutorial which seems to work just fine, just as the “Endless Mode” where you can play endlessly the game without specific goals. Then I checked Multi-player and it seems the Gamespy Internet mode is not available anymore/closed. So I though lets do LAN instead? Bad idea, CRASH of the game! So nope unfortunately no LAN possibility.  I could the at least fix the crash when clicking LAN, but it won’t do anything. Then I tried the Skirmish mode option, and that one seems to work fine. You can play against up to 4 computer bots and challenge them against your abilities.

All counted the pro’s and the minuses I got up to 3.5 stars because of the LAN multi-player fail, which could bring that special extra experience and the shivering mouse cursor which can be of course fixed by de-selecting the software cursor in the options. Even with those minuses, there is still lots to be played with including Campaign, Endless Mode and Skirmish, which will keep you from the streets for a long time. Enjoy!

NEO Scavenger released for Mac!

NEO Scavenger is a game where you must survive in the wasteland long enough to figure out who you are. Each turn, you must decide where to go, how to scavenge for supplies, and how to deal with anything and anyone you encounter. And with each passing minute, the pit in your stomach grows, your dehydration worsens, your muscles tire, and your body temperature drops in the cold autumn air. NEO Scavenger is available on and to see some visuals of the game, check out the game trailer below. Have fun!

Some nice features of the game are: Realistic survival simulation, with complex wounds and treatments, illnesses, hunger, thirst, warmth, and carrying capacity. Death is permanent! A mix of sandbox and story play, with random content and character customization to make each replay different.

Industry Giant 2 for Mac!

On many request Industry Giant 2 Gold is back on the catalog! The Industry Giant 2 (2012 Edition) stopped working on the old Wrapper and was removed. Now, more then a year later I can represent this game again with an updated Wrapper. The main concept of the game is similar to the City Building Series: after products are finished, they are added to the closest available warehouse, and then stores and factories can pick them up and sell them according to the demand. This game works very nice on my one hour tests on my Nvidia 640M iMac. In the video below you can see the visual instructions + a little bit of game-play.

Note: LAN option won’t work but Skirmish works fine. Also the software cursor “shivers” a bit, but when you annoyed by it, you can deselect the “software cursor” in the option, which brings you the normal mouse pointer instead.

Download the Portingkit and select the Aura game on the library –> server tab and download and install the game using the basic video tutorial of the Portingkit. Have fun!
