New Game Search and game pages in place on Portingkit.com!

A new Milestone is reached! Because of a hard working friend and co-worker on Porting Kit, our one and only main developer Vitor Marques de Miranda has put the search Engine and the game page feature on portingkit.com! What does this all mean? I know, I know, it contains a lot and some explanation :) Lets start with the Search engine:

The Search engine is totally changed now to this page…. It looks gorgeous with icons and ratings and shows when its a free game or not. You can simply tick on the search terms which will show you the results of the search. Because there has been some bugs in the Porting Center, not all games has gotten a “genre” selection and that makes the game invisible in the search. Thats why we are updating coming days all game ports and adding the specific game genre and thus visible in the search. So expect a lot of orange collard games coming days ;)

But wait, there is more! every game as its own awesome game page now and App ID! For Example: Incredible Machine: More Contraptions has ID 739 and has its own page with rankings, trailer, game description etc. which is also mentioned in the port description in the Portingkit. Is that cool or is that cool?

Well, in the end Portingkit will replace my original Website of Paulthetall.com, and we are a mayor step closer to that. So give Vitor a big hand for his hard work with the new Portingkit Website features! Awesome work if I may  say it myself! Also the website is made ready for the search engines so game pages will be found (better) from now on on the Internet as well! Enjoy the site!

Free Gametop Game: Spoiler Alert for Mac!

Spoiler Alert is a fun platform game where you play the game in reverse. The game is normally priced $3 on Steam, but GameTop offers it free on the Mac using the Portingkit without any trials, payments, no malware/virus, no toolbars, no in-game ads or what so ever!!

When you pick this game up, it has already been beaten. The big bad boss is defeated, the coins are collected and the princess has been rescued. Why, oh why? Unraveling this mystery takes you through the entire game, from the last level to the first. You must uncollect the coins, revive the enemies and avoid nasty time paradoxes. In other words, you must uncomplete the game by playing it backwards.

Everything in this game is so familiar, yet so different and new. You have played it a thousand times before, and at the same time, you have never tried anything like it.

The game should work on all Mac configurations, and I tested the game for about 4 levels without any problems. The Portingkit will automatically download and install this game for you. Simple as that. For the basic instructions for the usage of the Portingkit, go here…

Seven Kingdoms for Mac!

Another golden oldie arrived in Porting Kit: Seven Kingdoms Ancient Adversaries! Game works great as far as I tested. tested the game for about 20 minutes, not problems encountered.

A long, long time ago, when people lived among gods and monsters, seven kingdoms struggled for rule over the land. Lead one of those civilizations to glory through sophisticated trade, diplomacy, espionage and conquest. Choose from one of seven cultures: Greek, Persian, Viking, Norman, Mayan, Chinese and Japanese and compete for domination. Each Race in Seven Kingdoms has its own distinct advantages and disadvantages, its own unique God unit, a different military skill, its own strengths and weaknesses. Learn how to use them! Use military means, economy or subterfuge to bring down your enemies. And don’t forget about brute force, cunning and intelligence.

Lands of Lore 3 for Mac!

On request, Lands of Lore 3 is added to the Porting Kit Catalog! Lands of Lore 1 + 2 are already for Mac on GOG.com, so this one makes the series complete! I tested the game for about 30 minutes and works just fine of what I tested. You have to change the graphical settings to “Direct3d display” to play it in your native resolution.

Lands of Lore 3 offers diverse, RPG gameplay presented in first person perspective. It gives you a large amount of freedom, letting you choose your own path towards the game’s ultimate goal, and to divert from it whenever you like to engage in one of the many side-quests. You can join one of four guilds as a fighter, cleric, thief, or mage. Gaining expertise in the skills associated with your class is as easy as putting them into use. You’re not facing your destiny all by yourself, though.

Worms Armageddon added to Portingkit!

On request the Worms Armageddon game is added to Porting Kit. This game was one of the missing Worms games in the collection in the Porting Kit. The game works great, but can be played in  Windowed mode (configured that way) only at the moment. It’s a small limitation, but for the rest it works awesome! Already played a few games, mission and training and looked around on the online multiplayer games section. Enjoy!

Monkey Island 3 (Curse of Monkey Island) added to Portingkit!

On request! Monkey Island 3 (CD version) is added to Portingkit. As you may found out, I started to add some more old CD games to Portingkit as well the past weeks, and now Mnkey Island 3 was on turn. I used for this Port the quickandeasy.net installer, which will install both CD’s into the wrapper so you can play the game fully from your harddrive :). Make sure CD1 is in your (External)CD drive/mounted before you start the download of the script in the Portingkit. Have fun!
