Website recovered from D-DOS Attack

Website recovered from D-DOS Attack

The past 16 hours Paulthetall.com was under a constant D-Dos attack which ended in a total block of traffic to paulthetall.com by the hosting party. Luckily with the help of greengeeks support team we have cloudflare fully functional for the site so that paulthetall.com gets more protected against these evil attacks.

We hope we can put a period of attacks behind us now and get into more calmer waters. Thanks for all the patience past day while we were working on fixing the issue.

Dark Fall – The Journal for Mac & Linux

Dark Fall - The Journal for Mac & Linux

Adventure lovers may love this one: Dark Fall – The Journal for Mac & Linux (Linux using Crossover)! This adventure is rated quite high on GOG.com and especially the ones who like creepy games, this one may satisfy their needs. I myself am not really fan of those :P. I only played it for a few minutes.

Install is simple:
1. Get Porting Kit or Crossover if you don’t have it yet.
2. Then download the GOG.com setup files from Dark Fall – The Journal when you purchased/owned it.
3. Then for Crossover, simply download the Crosstie… and let Crossover do the work, or in Porting Kit search the game on the library –> server tab and click install.
4. After installation of the game, “exit” the GOG installer.
5. Click “Play” to start the game! Have fun!

You come back from work hoping to get a good night’s sleep but then you notice light blinking on your answering machine. It was your brother – an architect redeveloping an old train station and hotel. He called to ask for your help. Alarmed by his frightened voice, cryptic information about some disappearance and strange whispers in the background you board a train without hesitation. From now on your adventure has just begun and soon you will realize that although no one is there, you are not alone…

The game works great in Crossover, so that program is advised to use. So if you haven’t Crossover yet, then get it up here and buy the program or if you want to test it first, for the 14 days trial.

Kona for Mac & Linux!

Kona for Mac & Linux!

Kona is a narrative-driven interactive tale of mystery, exploration and survival, set amid a powerful and ominous snowstorm in a northern village in the 1970s.

You play as Carl Faubert, a war veteran now private detective who must travel to Atamipek Lake in Northern Canada to solve a simple, yet lucrative case. Your client is a rich industrialist and copper mine magnate who goes by the name of W. Hamilton. He accuses the local Cree community of vandalizing and stealing from his summer residence and hunting manor. The Crees are no friends to Hamilton, as they blame him for destroying sacred lands for the sole purpose of increased profits.

Firestarter for Mac and Linux

Firestarter for Mac and Linux

If you like action games in the way of Unreal and Unreal Tournament, then FireStarter might be a nice one for you too. FireStarter is now ported to Mac and I added it to Porting Kit as in Crossover (Linux + Mac). The game is tested on my Macbook air so it should thus work on any Mac with OSX 10.8.+. Have fun!

In the year 2010, a malicious virus has infected a virtual reality machine, the FireStarter. The intruding program has caused the computer to malfunction. The rules of the simulation have been altered in a potentially deadly manner, with the player’s consciousness trapped inside. There is only one possible way to escape, by completing the game with a period of 48 virtual hours.

It’s bin a while, but flight-sim fans may enjoy this one (and a couple more are coming up) F-16 Multirole Fighter for Mac has been added to Porting Kit and Crossover (Linux + Mac). With innovative technologies such as fly-by-wire controls, sophisticated systems for night and all-weather operations and the ability to carry a variety of weapons, the F-16 Multirole Fighter continually proves to be the workhorse of the USAF. World of Warships for Mac & Linux

I just found out that our Codeweavers friends, (makers of Crossover (Linux + Mac)), made the game World of Warships available for Mac! They already did for World of Tanks, and now they added this one to their list. Support their work by buying Crossover, as I already preach for years to have both Crossover and Porting Kit on your Mac as Primary gaming apps. Have fun!

The highly anticipated World of Warships is the latest free-to-play combat game to be added to Wargaming’s catalog. Command a massive naval fleet featuring history’s most iconic war vessels, level up important tech modules and prepare to dominate the oceans in World of Warships. With four classes of ships, myriad upgrades, and meticulously designed environments, the action never ends. Marble Drop for Mac

Marble Drop for Mac

On request! There was already a game page of this game, but I added Marble Drop for mac to Porting Kit. The game is abandonware so I added the free version. The Porting Kit version needs one extra action from yourself to make it work, but I made a video tutorial especially for that small action so even the non-technical people can enjoy this gem! The extra instructions are also mentioned in the Porting Kit description for the ones who think they can handle it without watching the video tutorial.

Players are given an initial set of 42 marbles divided evenly into six colors. These marbles are picked up and dropped by the player into funnels leading to a series of rails, switches, traps and other devices which grow more complex as the game progresses. The aim is to ensure that marbles arrive in the bin with the same color as the marble. Players must determine how the marble will travel through the puzzle, and how its journey will change the puzzle for the next marble.
