The Saboteur for Mac

The Saboteur for Mac

You like WW2 action? Then I have good news! The Saboteur is added to Porting Kit and works great on medium/high-end Macs! I tested the game on Catalina and it works pretty well. So also good news for Catalina OS 10.15.x users :) I tested it with the GOG.com version of the game. I played quite a bit, the game keeps you playing :P

For Catalina users: Make sure SIP is disabled and that the Porting Kit app is located in your Apps/Application folder. If you want SIP to be enabled, I strongly recommend Crossover for now for the time being.

Basic Portingkit Install Instructions GOG games:
1. Make sure you have downloaded the Portingkit App
2. Always read the “notes” of the game description first for additional steps!
3. Download the The Saboteur “offline backup setup” file(s) into your download folder.
4. Go to the library server tab and select the game you want to install and click “Install”
5. Portingkit will create the wrapper and locate your setup file in your download folder
6. The installation of the game will start, run through the install wizard.
7. After installation, exit the installer (don’t run launch the game).
8. Porting kit will say it has finished successfully.
9. Go to your local library tab and select the game and click “play”!
10 Enjoy the game!

Some wrapper updates, fixes and improvements.

Some wrapper updates, fixes and improvements.

I have been very busy lately with updating, improving and fixing old ports making it (when not already) Catalina OS 10.15x compatible. Meanwhile, Vitor is working hard on Porting Kit 4.0 and Gcenx/Dean is working hard to make a SIP enabled compatible engine for Catalina 10.15.x. We are processing a lot and there is lots and lots of cool stuff coming up soon with the new Portingkit 4.0. More about that soon.

Besides the many updates you probably saw on your rankings page, a few written comments about that on the blog. First some game port fixes :

Rise of Nations Extended Edition:
Fixed sound/music. Somehow for many Rise of Nations didn’t work (OS 10.14.x and below). That has now been all fixed.

Evil Genius:
Fixed launch problem for Evil Genius for Catalina OS 10.15.x. It seemed it didn’t work with the Catalina Wrapper, but has now been fixed.

Gabriel Knight 3:
In Gabriel Knight 3 there seems to be a bug which cause the game to freeze when analysing a piece of effidence. That has been traced and now fixed.

Stronghold HD and Strong HD Crusader:
Fixed multiplayer (Directplay) for both Stronghold HD and Strong HD Crusader (+ Extreme). you first couldn’t click on multiplayer (nothing happened), but now you can set up a LAN/TCP-IP connection with someone else.

Besides these, I ran though dozens of ports which still had Winetrick Directx9 (fased out in Winetricks) in the install script and replaced it with d3dx9. These ports may had launch issues as well, which should be fixed now. If you see in the ranking tab some updated games where you had trouble installing in the past, then please retry.

Very important. The wrapper fixes wouldn’t been happened without the help of community members who reported the issues using the contact form in porting Kit. Special thanks to them! So keep reporting game issues (which are in our database) if you run into one. We will try to help out.
