Portingkit update 3.0.42 and fix engines download Mojave and below.

Original Wineskin Website down:
Porting Kit 3.0 got an update fixing a few things. It seems that the original Wineskin website is offline for a while which caused problems in Porting Kit downloading Wine Engines for Mac OSX Mojave and below. So if you had earlier a message “This engine is not available” then this problem has now been resolved with the latest version of Porting kit.

New Portingkit update enforced:
So make sure you update to the latest version. Porting Kit has enforced the update to Porting Kit, but check the version in “About porting Kit” that the version is 3.0.42. We are not sure how long the issue was present, but it might be over a month. So if you read this and you had this issue the past weeks, then please retry installing your game, because the prblem has now been resolved.

Porting Kit Legacy retires:
Porting Kit legacy has been there for a long time, but has been harder and harder to maintain and prevents further development for Catalina and up. Also because the usage of the app dropped wide under the 1 percent, so there are just very few people using it anyway. The Porting Kit Legacy app can still be downloaded, but will not be supported anymore. Also the big download link for Porting Kit legacy is gone, but is still available.

Porting kit 4.0 development is making process:
Progress of Porting Kit 4.0 (Works SIP enabled) is under heavy development and the basics are almost in place which means in not too long there will be a beta available which is especially interesting for Mac OS Catalina users :)

Lets begin with a very popular one like Disco Alysium with a nice discount of -25%. But yes you are right, let’s talk big discounts like 75% to 90%! Alright there we go: Steamworld Dig with (75% off) and good old Bastion or Pinstripe (-80%). Dungeon Siege Collection (1, 2 + 3 and dlc’s) added to Porting Kit

Dungeon Siege Collection (1, 2 + 3 and dlc's) added to Porting Kit

Another awesome news! The past few days I have been busy with porting and testing the Dungeon Siege Collection for Mac :) And this morning I uploaded the final version of the collection, so now all 3 Dungeon Siege games in the collection are playable on Mac! I played all 3 games for a bit on my Macbook pro and works great, also on Catalina :) Have fun!

The collection has been available on GOG.com  and comntains the whole series (1, 2 + 3 and dlc’s) and if you love RPG really recommended.

Still For Catalina users (not long anymore): Make sure SIP is disabled and that the Porting Kit app is located in your Apps/Application folder. If you want SIP to be enabled, I strongly recommend Crossover for now for the time being.

Basic Portingkit Install Instructions GOG games:
1. Download Portingkit if you don’t have it already!
2. Download the Dungeon Siege Collection “offline backup setup” file(s) into your (root) download folder.
3. Go to the library server tab and select the game you want to install and click “Install”
4. Portingkit will create the wrapper and locate your setup file in your download folder
5. The installation of the game will start, run through the install wizard.
6. After installation, exit the installer (don’t run launch the game).
7. Porting kit will say it has finished successfully.
8. Go to your local library tab and select the game and click “play”!
9. Enjoy the game!

Close Combat – Wacht am Rhein for Mac

Close combat fans check this out: Close Combat – Wacht am Rhein for Mac! Yes, the game has been added to the Porting Kit database and runs great, even on Catalina :). I checked the campaign out for a while and runs great so far :) So if you love the Close combat series, then this one is recommended.

Arma Gold for Mac

Yes! it’s back on GOG.com and it’s back in the Porting Kit database: Arma Gold for Mac! The game is one of the 4 games (just as Arma Cold War Assault), which has been back on GOG.com. I tested the game for an hour or so (first campaign mission) without any issues on my Catalina Macbook pro. It’s quite fun for an action game. It has lots of options and its quite realistic in a way (not graphicly), but it is quite intelligent. Feel free to play it yourself, it’s only 1,59 at the moment on GOG.com you won’t regret it :).

Greta news. GOG.com has announced 4 old games back in the database from which Arma Cold War Assault is one of them! I added that game just now and also tested the game on Catalina, which works fine. If it’s not enough the game is on sale on GOG.com for just 0,79! More of the 4 games will follow shortly back into Porting kit as well.

So search the game in the Porting kit database and you will find the GOG.com source there. The when you own the game from GOG.com, download the “Offline backup setup file” into your download folder and install the game! Have fun!
