Beholder 3 for Mac

As promised I would put up another game port :) Well here it is: Beholder 3 for Mac! In Beholder 3 a totalitarian state that controls everything and everyone through oppressive laws, total surveillance, and intimidation (mmmm this sounds familiar…) forces you to work for them. Can you get your old life back, or even something better? Will you fight for change and truth or uphold the status quo? Who are you willing to sacrifice to get what you want?

I tested the game in Porting Kit and Parallels Desktop on my Apple Silicon Macbook Pro, and works pretty well (I did turn off bloom in the video settings and v-sync to smoothen things up but you can turn off more stuff as well if you are more demanding). Also on start-up you get a message box about a dll, but simply click “ok” to launch the game (is same in Windows). Have fun!

Basic Portingkit Install Instructions GOG games:
1. Download the Beholder 3 “offline backup setup” file(s) into your download folder.
2. Always read the “notes” of the game description first for additional steps
3. Go to the library server tab and select the game you want to install and click “Install”
4. Portingkit will create the wrapper and locate your setup file in your download folder
5. The installation of the game will start, run through the install wizard.
6. After installation, exit the installer (don’t run launch the game).
7. Porting kit will say it has finished successfully.
8. Go to your local library tab and select the game and click “play”!
9. Enjoy the game!

Alternatively there is also Parallels Desktop (a very easy to use Virtual Machine with Windows 11 (free trial of 14 days)) where the game will work fine as well. More info about that up here: https://www.paulthetall.com/parallels-desktop/
