Caesar II for Mac

Caesar II for Mac

Another great news! GOG.com released the digital version of Caesar II! This game is similar to the very popular Caesar 3 and Zeus & Poseidon and Pharaoh & Cleopatra city builder games. So I added the GOG.com source as soon as I could to Porting Kit and made a Crosstie for Crossover as well. The game works awesome on even low-end Macs as my Macbook Air. Enjoy!

You are the Governor of a Roman province whose capital city (if you build it well!) will become the talk of the Empire. Choose from dozens of authentic structures – temples, aqueducts, bath houses, even the Circus Maximus – and watch your city spring to life. Develop resources, open trade routes and promotion will soon follow.

Hang on to your togas! As governor of a province of the Roman empire, you must build cities, rule wisely, and lead legions to crush hostile barbarian attackers. You’ll fortify your creations with mighty walls and towers, keep the plebes happy with baths and entertainment, and keep a careful watch on your defenses. Success will lead to promotion, and your cities will expand to fill your province. Govern well and you may rise to rule the empire as Caesar himself!

Space Quest 1, 2, 3 for Mac

Great news, as you may know I already ported Space Quest 4 + 5 + 6 for Mac, but I am happy to announce the first 3 games as well! That’s right: Space Quest 1 + 2 + 3 for Mac is added to Porting Kit as on Crossover and works great (all 3 DOS games) as almost all DOS games do in Porting kit and Crossover.  Ow and Linux users can play those games as well using Crossover! Happy gaming with these old GEMS!

A long time ago in a galaxy just around the corner you are the janitor in space. Your mission is to scrub dirty floors, to replace burned-out light bulbs, to clean out latrines… To boldly go where no man has swept the floor. See what happens yourself as Roger Wilco, intergalactic garbage-man, comes to the rescue. Packed with comedy, tragedy, suspense, horror and many other nouns. The Package includes Space Quest: The Sarien Encounter, Space Quest II: Vohaul’s Revenge and Space Quest III: The Pirates of Pestulon

The game works great in Crossover, so that program is advised to use. So if you haven’t Crossover yet, then get it up here and buy the program or if you want to test it first, for the 14 days trial.

Star Wars Dark Forces for Mac

On request: Star Wars Dark Forces for Mac! The game is available for Linux on GOG.com, so I added the game to Porting Kit so you can play it on Mac as well. Game is a DOS port, so it works great on even low-end macs as my Macbook Air with Intel HD 5000 graphics. Have fun!

Unlike many other Doom-based games, Star Wars -Dark Forces attempted a realistic approach: the missions followed a specific storyline, sometimes cut up by scenes to progress the narrative. Each mission had its own briefing and objective. The levels were designed to represent actual bases, mines, facilities, and other known places from the Star Wars™ universe, like Star Destroyer interiors, Jabba’s ship, Coruscant, etc.

F-117A Nighthawk Stealth Fighter for Mac

Past Weekend I added F-117a Nighthawk Stealth Fighter for Mac to Portingkit. This old classic brings you in the cockpit of this famous airplane to fly the many missions in the game. Plenty of fun for many hours. Should work basicly on every Mac configuration with With OSX 10.7+. Have fun! Porting Kit game page can be found here…

Slice through the dark and own the night in your Lockheed F-117 Nighthawk, the first operational aircraft to utilize stealth technology in its design. This isn’t your typical attack fighter, you’ll be flying sorties under the cover of night, avoiding detection by enemy radar and striking high-value targets with precision weaponry. You’ll want to haunt the battlefield like a ghost, menacing the enemy with earth-shattering ordnance before vanishing in your airborne apparition as suddenly as you appeared.

With a hardcore devotion to authenticity, F-117A brings you unprecedented night combat action. You’ll go through every phase of mission planning, from requesting a specific assignment during briefing to choosing your own munitions during armament, before then climbing into your cockpit and experiencing the thrill of dropping 1,000 lbs. of laser-guided destruction on enemy troops, tanks and bunkers. This is your chance to fly one of the most technologically impressive warplanes ever made.

Albion for the Mac

It is the year 2227, and the gigantic interstellar factory ship, Toronto, cruises toward a lifeless planet endowed with a wealth of minerals. While studying the planet in his shuttlecraft, the pilot, Tom Driscoll, unavoidably crash lands. Against all expectations, he survives to discover his craft has landed in a world rich in flora and fauna, and inhabited by intelligent beings. How could the data on the planet of Albion have been so wrong? I tested Albion a bit in the Portingkit and it seems to work just fine on my Nvidia 64om iMac.

I made the port available as Crosstie and for the Portingkit. So for the basic instructions for the Portingkit installation go here… and to learn more about Crossover go here…

Get the file on the server tab of the Portingkit here… or if you use Crossover the Crosstie here…

Police Quest: SWAT 1 for Mac!

Experience the relentless adrenaline-pumping action of SWAT firsthand. SWAT 1 was created by the man who developed the real-life SWAT team, former LAPD Police Chief, Darryl F. Gates. The game was designed and directed by Police Quest veteran Tammy Dargan, former producer of America’s Most Wanted. Police Quest Swat 1 is available on GOG.com and bundled in a package which also contains SWAT 2 (more about that one this weekend).  I tested Police Quest Swat 1 and it works on my Nvidia 640M (should work fine on the other Macs as well) and played a while without any issues. Below a trailer with some visuals of the game.

Simply download the Portingkit (if you don’t have it already) and go to the library –> server tab and select the “Police Quest Swat 1” and click download. If you don’t own the game yet the Portingkit can direct you to the game page where to purchase it and download the setup/download file into your download folder. When you clicked “no” and were directed to the game page, you have to click “download” again and then click “yes” so the Portingkit will install the game for you. After installation the Portingkit will say the installation was done successfully. Then go to your “local” tab where you can select the game and click “play”!

Police Quest Collection for the Mac!

Walk the thin blue line in four of the most realistic crime games ever created, packed with complex storylines and real-life mysteries that only a handful of real police officers ever face – or solve. You don’t just watch the action – you’re in the thick of it. Yes, the Police Quest collection is added in the Portingkit! This means you will find Police Quest, Police Quest 2, Police Quest 3 and Police Quest 4 in the game list. All 4 games have their own download (WSI) in the Portingkit because those games have their own installer file on GOG.com. I added a game-play video below of Police Quest 4. Enjoy this nice adventure collection!

Simply download the Portingkit (if you don’t have it already) and go to the library –> server tab and select on of the Police Quest games of the “Police Quest collection” and click download. If you don’t own the game yet the Portingkit can direct you to the game page where to purchase it and download the setup/download file into your download folder. When you clicked “no” and were directed to the game page, you have to click “download” again and then click “yes” so the Portingkit will install the game for you. Patrician for Mac!

If you like economic games Patrician is definitely quite enjoyable. The graphic side of this DOS game, is not that important for this kind of game, but still is nicely made. Terrain’s and cities are rendered good and detailed.  Sounds are good matched to the graphics as well. The main theme and sound effects are also nice. Get this game in the Patrician 1 + 2 bundle on GOG.com, where you also receive Patrician 2 which is also added into the Portingkit. Official post for this game follows tomorrow. Check out some game-play in the video below. Enjoy!

Simply download the Portingkit (if you don’t have it already) and go to the library –> server tab and select the “Patrician” game and click download. If you don’t own the game yet the Portingkit can direct you to the game page where to purchase it and download the setup/download file into your download folder.
