World of Tanks 9.2 Update!

World of Tanks had an update yesterday to version 9.2. With my latest Wrapper there are no big differences in performance. I tested with my AMD Radeon iMac and my Nvidia 640M iMac, and with both configurations I could play about 4 games in good FPS (lowest GFX settings) before it hangs while going back into the garage in the game. In that case I just closed the game and restarted and played on. For Intel Graphics HD Card owners I heard that it almost hangs every game (less lucky)….I haven’t managed to fix that bug yet. I keep it closely in watch though, so when I find a fix I will update it straight away on the blog.

They even give you a bonus for this weekend, because when you login From Friday 1 August at 07:10 until Monday 4 August at 07:00 CEST (UTC +2) into the game, then you get this special Japanese tier II premium light tank, along with a garage slot, as a birthday gift! So don’t miss this one out! Have fun!

Amiga Wrapper update!

Amiga isn’t dead as many people think. At least not in the Amiga fan’s hearts, and not on the Mac! Because we still have the Amiga Wrapper!! This Project took me a couple of weeks to accomplish and for me very important as I grew up with it. It’s always nice to hear from people that they were looking for this application everywhere and finally stumbled on it on my site. Check out the project page to see the demonstration video for good old times. This Wrapper is one of the 3 Premium games on my website and can be obtained when becoming a Silver Premium Member and a proof of purchase of Amiga Forever (Because of the licensed ROMS). The valued Edition is already sufficient. Enjoy this amazing Wrapper!

Changes:
– Tested and works even on OSX 10.10 Yosimite!
– New Icon

Paulthetall.com gets it’s own App!!

I have amazing news for you guys and girls. Paulthetall.com will get his own app! I  was thinking of an app for a long while already, especially file-hosting was a pain in the ass, Opendrive and Filefactory have slow downloads and or advertisement screens in it. Mediafire was the only file host reliable and trustworthy through these years but was limited in download size which caused problems with bigger files. Also some bugs  with a couple of wrappers which may have caused by my profile when creating the wrapper (especially the oldest wrappers), are over!

This app, this amazing app, will be a mix of Steam, Crossover and PlayonMac! You open the app, go to your library and can choose for the local Wrappers installed on your Mac or check the Wrappers available on the server. Search your desired game, and click download and it will automatically download the engine, apply the tweaks/tricks needed for the game and when it involves a downloadable file, it will automatically download and install the game in the app including the paulthetall.com branded game specific icon!!  Yes, so easy! You don’t even have to set the start executable! It will be all done by the application. This application will make all game pages absolute because all details/description will be visible when selecting the specific game. You even can rank the game on video-card! So give your rank 1-5 stars how the port works on your video-card. This will give insight how the wrapper will work on your video-card. There is even nothing else needed anymore because you can simply download and launch the game from-out the app! There will be a community tab with chat and a kinda forum. There will be a Help tab, to contact us and for guides and tutorials. It’s a dream app and no log in account is necessary!

“Paul, development is probably just started and will probably take another year to publish…” Well, the app is already fully function, technically the application is almost ready, we are working on the layout/GUI and when this all is ready I will add the WSI files (those are the scripts which do all the work) to the server so everyone can download them within the app. So the official release of it will be only a few months away! The name of the App and more details will follow coming weeks!

New iMacs are out!

The new iMacs seem to be out this week, and it is always good to check with what hardware it is shipped! So, i checked with full expectancy, but was disappointment with what I saw… Apple sticks on the Intel graphics cards for the general cheaper basic systems. An intel HD Graphics 5000 for the basic 21″ system (with only 1.4Ghz!!!) costing $1099 which is in my opinion quite expensive for it is. Then for $1299 we still have no Nvidia card, but we are stuck with an Intel Iris Pro graphics card, which is luckily a bit better then the Intel HD Graphics 5000 and twice the speed (2.7 Ghz), but still not what we want. And finally after paying at least $1499 you got a Graphics card worthy of gaming, a Nvidia Geforce GT 750M. So there is unfortunatly no AMD radeon GFX card (what I hoped) in one of the iMacs released. A real shame…. The only good thing with the iMac is that it is shipped with at least 8GB internal memory expandable to 16GB which is really needed with gaming.

Conclusion: If you are thinking to move to a new iMac and you love gaming. Save a bit more to get at least the iMac with the Nvidia Geforce GT 750M for better game support and better experience…
