C&C Red Alert 2 Wrapper update!

Great news! Past weekend I did another update for Red Alert 2 with great performance boost and fixes. No more issues with resolutions, great speed, just as it used to be. The extra files mentioned in the description (zip file + moving the files (not folder) into the Red Alert 2 Game folder after installation of the game in Origin, are still required! Game runs awesome now! I am still working adding more multiplayer functionality using CCnet or others, but that’s still on my todo list. Enjoy!

Whats new?:
– Performace Improvements
– Fix for possible freezes in 1024×768 resolutions

You can find the updated wrapper in Porting Kit on the server tab, or go to the game page here…

Crysis 2 for Mac

While Steam has now a workaround, we continue with a new ported Origin game: Crysis 2 for Mac! I was quite impressed how well the game runs on even my  medium end Intel Iris iMac! I recently ported the First Crysis as well, so this one is a real welcoming as well. I added a recording of some gameplay of the game in Porting Kit. Find the video embedded below. Enjoy this one!

Game description:
In New York, terrifying alien invaders stalk the streets and a nightmare plague strikes down the city’s myriad inhabitants with brutal epidemic speed. The city’s systems are in chaos, its streets and skyline are smashed and in flaming ruin. This is New York City like you’ve never seen it before. Neither paramilitary law enforcement nor the might of the US military machine can stand against the invaders, and all who choose not to flee are dead men walking. Just to survive in this maelstrom of death will require technology beyond anything any modern soldier has ever seen.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 for Mac

Here another great Origin game launch in Porting Kit! Battlefield Bad Company 2 for Mac! The port will install the Windows Origin in porting kit so you will able to download the game into Origin and play the game. The game needs a decent Mac (Medium/high-end) to get the best enjoyment in higher video settings. Below a video of some gameplay on my intel Iris iMac using Porting Kit. Have fun with this one!

Red Alert 2 + C&C Renegade Wrapper update!

As promised! The Red Alert 2 and C&C Renegade update with Activation.dll fix! As mentioned in the previous post about the Origin Activation.dll fix which included the fix for the rest of the Origin games in the Porting Kit, now those last 2 games which are included in the C&C Ultimate edition (only about $8), which also includes C&C 3 + Kanes Wrath, Red Alert 3 + Uprising and C&C Generals!

Red Alert 2 I have added some extra notes (to add a couple of files for best performance) and played 3 levels without issues in 800×600 resolution. Also Renegade works just awesome (native Windows). Enjoy!

Origin Activation.dll final fix!!

Ladies and Gentlemen attention please! Finally, yes finally we implanted a decent fix for the Origin activation DLL issues. In the past we needed to use specific patches to workaround that issue and even then there were some people where it still caused problems. However!! There is finally an official fix for this problem (a pre-loader) which fixes this issue once and for all! I nice extra with the new engine, is that the crash after install is fixed as well! I will test and update all Origin games this weekend and coming week. I already did the update for the games:

The rest will follow shortly. Red Alert 2 and C&C renegade have a regression in the latest Wine versions, so that still needs to be fixed before I will update these Engines. This means the games still work using the old fashioned patches, but the engine with pre-loader will follow shortly as well!

New Porting Kit! Native games and Origin is back!

VitorMM here, and Porting Kit have support to native games now! What that means? That means that now you will find links to buy native games in our database, so now you can manage ALL your games with the Porting Kit, and not only the ported ones. That will be specially useful when we rally a new feature in Porting Kit, which should be coming soon…

Now about Origin ports: they are back! All Origin port were updated to Paul’s newest Origin engine, and now we won’t have problems with the latest Origin version. No more update error in the end of the installation, and no errors related to game installations.

With Porting Kit 1.9.115, we also have some bug fixes since 1.9.95, which includes a bug which made Porting Kit incapable of being used by computers with more than one active user. Also, the Ranking tab is now multi-threaded, which means that it won’t froze Porting Kit until its content has been loaded.

Many surprises are coming in the next Porting Kit releases (my TODO list already has 12 items), so keep yourself updated. If you want to keep yourself in touch with the latest features, make sure you always update to the latest version. If you only want to access new features when they are completely tested, update only when the latest version is marked as stable, which will be the same version for download here.

Need for Speed Undercover (Origin) for Mac!

As promised another Origin game tonight!  This second one is “Need for Speed Undercover”! Also Need for speed Undercover was already added to paulthetall.com. The game installs fine in Origin altough you might need to restart Origin in order to launch it. In contrary of “Burnout Paradise”, login into EA games account ingame does work just fine. Lots of fun is awaiting you!

Install instructions:
Open the Portingkit and download the “Need for Speed Undercover Origin” file and let the Portingkit install Origin. The open Origin and activate the Gamersgate version serial mentioned above. After downloading the game this one stucks at installing (one of the only annoying bugs), but you can easily fix this by quitting Origin (after a few minutes to be sure), and then login again and then you are able to launch the game without problems. BUT, before you launch you have to do one more thing…Go to your preferences of Origin and turn off  “ingame Origin” and “Automatically update the game” (select-box). If you don’t do that, the game will freeze at launch. So make sure this is turned off , also when playing any other game in Origin. Then click play to start (it may ask to update, don’t do that). Have fun!

Burnout Paradise (Origin) for Mac!

A couple more Origin games will follow coming days.  The first one for tonight is “Burnout Paradise”! Burnout Pardise was already added to paulthetall.com, but installation was a headache. With this version that problem is over. The game installs fine altough you might need to restart Origin in order to launch it. Also the ingame login into EA games account takes forever, so it is offline play only I am afraid. But even then there is endless gameplay and fun waiting for you. Laughed my ass out when testing the game, so even more is whished to you ;).

Install instructions:
Open the Portingkit and download the “Burnout Paradise Origin” file and let the Portingkit install Origin. Then click play to start (will ask to update, don’t do that). Have fun!
