Dungeon Keeper 2 for the Mac!

Everyone can say much about older games, but I have to say newer games aren’t always better. I can say even better, there are older games which cannot be beaten by any new games yet. For example, yesterday I spent most of my evening (which was not meaned to :P)  with an golden oldie “Civilization“. Loved that game in the past and I have to watch out that it consumes much time from me :P

Today another very popular golden oldie called: Dungeon Keeper 2. This game (although not my personal taste of games) is the predecessor of Dungeon Keep (Gold), which is now released for the Mac on GOG.com, and where you have to play a dungeon keeper where you have to manage way through all the levels. Check out the gameplay below.

Dungeon Keeper 2 is everything its predecessor was, only better and badder! It is probably one of the most addictive and fun games ever created; with tons of dark humor, smooth gameplay, and high replayability value. In addition to that there is a well designed multiplayer mode and a pet-dungeon module that tests your ability to build the ultimate underground labyrinth filled with traps, wierdos, and other bad looking devices. If you liked Dungeon Keeper you will love this ultimate installment of the Bullfrog series.

Mosby’s Confederacy for the Mac!

As John Singleton Mosby, one of the Civil War’s most interesting and dynamic leaders, you are charged not with leading vast armies into battle, but with commanding small bands of skirmishers, scouts and guerilla fighters on opportunistic missions to scout, ambush, steal supplies and harass a larger and better armed force of Union soldiers, in this game of turn based strategy and real time tactical combat.  Mosby’s Confedracy is available on Shinyloot, and then after purchase simply follow the video Instructions to play the game.

Missions and their objectives are randomized, so you’ll need to approach each game differently, carefully planning your strategy for success. You draw your soldiers from local towns, then through hard won battlefield experience transform them into fighting men “ scouts, cavalry, rangers and riflemen. Between battles you’ll invest in local towns, so they can serve as field hospitals, stables and munitions caches, helping to keep your forces fit and able to fight, and remain confident and supportive of your ongoing efforts, by willingly supplying men to fight for your cause – and as the war rages on this becomes increasingly challenging.

Extra Video + Wrapper update Rome TW 2!

As promised (a day later as planned) the video of the gameplay of Rome Total War 2, which works very good (if at least you have a good GFX card and at least 4GB+ RAM)! I advise to set the settings not higher then medium and In the video it would been smarter of me to keep the lower resolution which costed extra loading time :P. I updated the wrapper as well, because it had not the paulthetall.com branded Rome Total War 2 icon. Enjoy! Check out the video below or on the game page.

Rome Total War 2 for the Mac!

On many requests, here finally is Rome Total War 2.  Total War Rome II is one of the best strategy games around. Its the follow-up of Rome Total War, which is already released for Mac. For Rome Total War good system specs are required, a 256 GFX card will simply not do. Minimum requirements are a 512MB GFX card and at least 4 GB internal memory (8GB highly recommended). I played with my Nvidia GT 640m 512MB graphicscard and 8 GB ram and with those specs its running quite good on medium settings and in 1920×1080 resolution. I played a historical battle and a campaign for an hour where I fought 4 battles without any problems.

The award-winning Total War series returns to Rome, setting a brand new quality benchmark for Strategy gaming. Become the world’s first superpower and command the Ancient world’s most incredible war machine. Dominate your enemies by military, economic and political means. Your ascension will bring both admiration and jealousy, even from your closet allies.

Tzar: The Burden of the Crown for the Mac!

Yes, finally I am home and have access to my 2 iMacs again! So to make it up a little I am planning to do 2 ports tonight. Starting with this one. Tzar: The Burden of the Crown is a good old strategy game which works great with the wrapper even on an Nvidia 9400M (yeah tested that one the Macbook while I was away)!  This strategy game has some gameplay feeling as with Total Annihilation: Kingdoms, so if you like that kinda games, then you are on the right spot with this one.

A sinister evil has come to the peaceful kingdom of Keanor, a land of beauty, mystery and magic. The Palace lies in ruins as armies of malevolent warriors sweep through the countryside while the once-proud Imperial Guard cowers in fear. The citizens of Keanor flee their homes in terror, praying for the rise of the one true leader who, it was foretold, would lead them against the armies of darkness. Are you the hero they seek?
