Mass Effect Wrapper update!

Great news! The Mass Effect port got an update this weekend. I managed to fix the cut off conversations in the game :). Besides that I managed to get Mass Effect 2 working as well, so you can expect a release of that port as well! The WSI in Porting Kit is updated now, so if you install (or re-install when you already have the game installed) then the fix will be implanted!

– Fixed in-game cut-off conversations

Emperor – Rise of a Middle Kingdom version added to Porting Kit and Crossover!

Great news! released the digital version of Emperor – Rise of the middle Kingdom! This game is similar to the very popular Caesar 3 and Zeus & Poseidon and Pharaoh & Cleopatra city builder games. So I added the source as soon as I could to Porting Kit and made a Crosstie for Crossover as well. The game works awesome on even low-end Macs as my Macbook Air. Enjoy!

Install is simple:
1. Get Porting Kit or Crossover if you don’t have it yet.
2. Then download the setup files from Emperor when you purchased/owned it.
3. Then for Crossover, simply download the Crosstie… and let Crossover do the work, or in Porting Kit search the game on the library –> server tab and click install.
4. After installation of the game, “exit” the GOG installer.
5. Click “Play” to start the game! Have fun!

Start with a plot of land by the Yang-Tze and end with the Earth’s mightiest empire. Help your people thrive. Discover new technologies. Set taxes, control trade, raise huge armies. Invade other cities and make them yours. Decorate. Do you have what it takes to build the Great Wall? Will you remember to honor your ancestors? Your throne awaits!

The game works great in Crossover, so that program is advised to use. So if you haven’t Crossover yet, then get it up here and buy the program or if you want to test it first, for the 14 days trial.

Red Alert Wrapper update

Red Alert Wrapper update

I heard that Red Alert had some regular crashes, so I looked into it and was able to make it far more stable. Experienced no crashes yet at the moment (played 3 levels) for testing. Also it seemed that CNCnet had an update and needed an update for .net2.0 as well. Those two fixes combined made this update.

I also updated the Cross-tie for Crossover with automatic download and install of Red Alert. So that Crosstie will have exact same features as the Porting Kit has.

Pacific Assault version added to Porting Kit/Crossover!

Great news! Medal of Honor – Pacific Assault arrived DRM free on! Because of this I added the version to Porting Kit and Crossover! The version is advised over the Origin version because Origin is a game client where you first need to login to in order to play. So version is always recommended above game client version as Uplay/Origin and Steam.

Medal of Honor – Pacific Assault puts you in the boots of a WWII soldier in the Pacific Theater of Operations. As Marine Private Tommy Conlin, you must survive the devastating attack on Pearl Harbor and then join the Allied crusade to defeat Imperial Japan’s bloody conquest of the Pacific. From the attack at Pearl Harbor to the pivotal battle against Japanese Forces at Tarawa Island, Medal of Honor Pacific Assault gives PC gamers a sense of the courage it took to endure and overcome the Japanese threat in WWII and fight for VICTORY in the Pacific.

Warhammer 40k Dawn of War (Steam) added to Porting Kit.

It seems that the Warhammer 40K Dawn of War game has been deleted from the Gamersgate game catalog. The  users mentioning this showed me that there is still a Steam version of this game. So I purchased the collection, and added The first one: Warhammer 40K Dawn of War game GOTY. The rest will follow very soon, so check the blog regularly. Game works awesome by the way ;).

Prepare yourself for the grim, dark future of the 41st millennium, where alien races battle mankind for galactic domination in a universe of unending war.  Personalize your armies with a revolutionary unit customization tool that gives you the ability to choose your armies insignias, banners, squad colors and names.

Battlefield Vietnam added to Porting Kit!

And here we have the missing Battlefield in the series: Battlefield Vietnam :) If you own the CD version of the game, then you can use it to play it on your Mac! Works great! The install script is added into Porting Kit so enjoy this one!

Battlefield Vietnam has the same point by point objectives of Battlefield 1942; in most maps, the objective is to take Control Points around the map to enable friendly players and controllable vehicles to spawn. Like other Battlefield games, Spawn tickets play a vital role for defeat of a Team. Battlefield Vietnam features a revolutionary form of asymmetrical warfare gameplay. The two teams (American or Vietnamese) are given wildly different kits and vehicles, making the U.S. rely more on heavy vehicles and the Vietnamese rely more on infantry tactics.
