Commandos 3 "Windowed" solution Wrapper update!

Commandos 3 just got an wrapper update with a “Windowed” solution of the game for the latest M1/M2 Apple Silicon Pro’s Mac(book)s! Because of some mails of the past reporting, that the game doesn’t launch on the latest Apple Silicon Macbook pro’s, I tested it with my new Apple Silicon Pro chip Macbook and managed to create a “Windowed” solution for the game.

The port install will contain an extra custom exe which is called “Commandos 3 (windowed)” which can be launched for these Macs having issues launching the normal fullscreen game. Because the game is 800×600 and the window might be small in high resolution, I recommend to change the “fonts/text” in your Mac settings –> displays, and choose the “one before last” font setting, so that the window will be bigger. See screenshot below. This way it’s much more fun to play. Have fun!

Basic Portingkit Install Instructions GOG games:
1. Download the GOG.com Commandos 3 offline backup setup file(s) into your download folder.
. Always read the notes of the game description first for additional steps!
3. Go to the library server tab and select the game you want to install and click: Install
4. Portingkit will create the wrapper and locate your setup file in your download folder
5. The installation of the game will start, run through the install wizard.
6. After installation, exit the installer (don’t run launch the game).
7. Porting kit will say it has finished successfully.
8. Go to your local library tab and select the game and click: play
9. Enjoy the game!
