Commandos Behind Enemy Lines For Mac OSX

Game Details:

Welcome to the “Commandos Behind Enemy Lines” for Mac game page.  This page contains information + tools how to simply port Commandos Behind Enemy Lines in a few steps (which even a non technical person can do) so you can play it on your Mac just like a normal application. Check also one of the other over 1000 game ports on this website! Check the homepage to search and for latest news! You can port games using Porting Kit (free), or the commercial (more professional software) Crossover or Parallels Desktop (a very easy to use Virtual Machine with Windows 11) both have a 14 day trial period. Feel free to use the application which fits you best or use a combination of the 3 apps.

Commandos Behind Enemy Lines is a very popular WW2 strategy game! The game is available as on  GOG.com. When using the GOG.com version (2 games in one pack!), click on the link, create an account using the signup in the top bar on the GOG.com website and buy the game. You automatically get when creating an account 14 free GOG games (Almost all of them Mac games) added to your account so you have nothing to loose, only to receive!

We also ported: Commando’s Beyond the Call of Duty and Commando’s 2 and Commando’s 3, make sure you check those pages as well!

Install/Porting is simple:
1. Get Porting Kit or Crossover if you don’t have it yet.
2. Then download the GOG.com setup files from Pharaoh + Cleopatra from GOG (offline backup setup installer files).
3. Then in Porting Kit search the game on the library –> server tab and click install.
4. After installation of the game, “exit” the GOG installer.
5. Click “Play” to start the game! Have fun!

Alternatively there is also Parallels Desktop (a very easy to use Virtual Machine with Windows 11 (free trial of 14 days)) where the game will work fine as well. More info about that up here: https://www.paulthetall.com/parallels-desktop/

Important:
Save issues can be solved doing this: Right-click the wrapper –> show package content –> c_drive –> navigate to the game folder and open the Commando.cfg file (in output folder) with a text editor and  make sure this is inside the cfg file.

  1. can you help?

I have downloaded PortingKit. Downloaded the 3 Steambuild items. When I go into Steam, I download Commandos Behind Enemy Lines. Press play and it says I need DirectX 5 to play. Any ideas please?

  2. There is a separate port for that game in the portingkit database. Install that instead of using the Steambuild wrapper. There might be a change that it works in Steambuild Direct3D but you better stick to the ports specifically created for the game in the database.
