New Port: Frostpunk 2 for Mac

I ported it a little while back but didn’t announced it yet, but it’s here: Frostpunk 2 for Mac! The world is overtaken by an ever present winter, which makes expansion of the city the only way for the survival of mankind. In order to grow, the metropolis needs resources like coal and oil, just like its citizens require food and warmth. In Frostpunk 2, it’s your job to tackle this never ending circle of supply and demand.

The first Frostpunk is native available for the Mac on GOG.com as well, if you are interested in it’s predecessor game.

About the Port:
The game is based on D3DMetal so it it only works on Apple Silicon Macs, when you at least are on Mac OS 12 Monterey or higher (will be working from Mac OS 10.15.4 and higher soon). Tested the game on my M1 Apple Silicon Macbook Pro and works nicely.

This game requires at least Porting Kit 6.7.0! While the update mechanism isn’t working properly at the moment, download the latest version from the Porting Kit website here…

Porting Kit GOG Install Instructions:
– Make Sure you have Porting Kit installed on your Mac
– Make sure you logged in into GOG integration in Porting Kit (GOG account tab -> Login):
– If not: – Make sure you download the “Offline backup setup files” of Frostpunk 2 from GOG into your download folder.
– Search the game in “all games” or “GOG Source” database.
– Click “Install” (Then next, next, you know the drill).
– Porting Kit will Install the GOG.com version of Frostpunk 2
– After install of the port, click exit to finish the installation process.
– Click play to start the game!
