Games testing and updates in Catalina full in the works…

Yeah, time is not standing still here. We are working hard on Porting Kit, Wineskin, and testing games in Catalina at the same time. While we are still working on getting games Catalina ready and testing as many games we can on Catalina to map the games which works and the ones who don’t and trying to fix them. The counter is now on 6 games which are 16bit and do not work on 64bit OS. We hope to get a fix for those in the future, but until now they are not working. I keep a List on tested games on this page… which contains a list of both working and non-working games in Catalina.

When using Catalina with Porting Kit you need to make sure of the things below:
– SIP is Disabled  –> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYpMtnhqZZQ
– The Porting Kit app is located in the “Apps/Applications” folder
– You updated to Latest Catalina version (10.15.3 at the moment)

In this quest of testing of games in Catalina I fixed a bunch of games as well which at first didn’t work in Catalina. These were:
– Anno 1404
– Anno 1701
– Rollercoaster Tycoon 2
– Port Royale
Port Royale 2
– Commandos Beyond the Call of Duty

Until now 64 most popular games are tested and fixed. Of course most of the games will work automatically in Catalina, but it’s always good to have all games officially tested in Catalina. If you want to keep SIP enabled you can still use Crossover in the meantime.

Find the whole list up here…

  1. So far I’ve begun testing Porting Kit 3.018 under 10.15.3 on mac mini 2012 i7/Intel 4000 Graphics with 8GB Memory and SDD: all GOG versions

Working and Played: Age of Wonders, Alien vs. Predator, Fall Out Tactics, Star Trek Star Fleet Command, Star Trek Star Fleet Academy

    Failures:
All Blitzkrieg 2 games – loads to splash screen and stops,
Fallout and Fallout 2, memory errors
Freespace and Freespace 2 – tries to load editor, then tries to load game but complanins about loading from root of C: drive

  2. Great! Keep it coming. I will look into Blitzkrieg 2. Fallout 1 and 2 is a known bug mentioned in the post already. Freespace 2 I need to check out myself as well.

  3. I’ll be testing as many as possible this week. I’ll even confirm some working ones under my i7/4000 Intel Graphics Mac mini system. -Best Regards, Rob

  4. Update: Can confirm GOG versions: Diablo+Hellfire, Imperial Glory and Panzer Gneral II are all working on Porting Kit 3.018, Catalina 10.5.3, Mac mini 2012 i7/Intel 4000
