Issues Origin Client forced update to EA App!

We have unfortunate news, EA has forced updated the Origin Client to the EA App. This means if you have the Origin client installed, it will automatically update to the EA App with as consequence it is not working anymore (installation failure). We haven’t managed to have a workaround yet, so today all the Origin Client/EA App ports will be put in “Maintenance Mode”. Codeweavers (from Crossover) mentioned in their blog about their latest CX release, that they hope to have it fixed before the release of CX23 (which is planned in Summer). If we hear from Wine developers that a fix is their we will implement that in a rebuild of the CX22.0.1 engine we already have. So stay tuned about news about that.

Every once in a while Game client updates are messing things up in Wine and takes a while to be fixed. Sometimes there are more easy workarounds, other times it takes more time to have it fixed.

  1. I came here to try and play on Battlefield 1942 for the first time in more than a decade, I wonder what can be done?
