Jazz Jackrabbit 2 Wrapper update (Apple Silicon ready)

The Jazz Jackrabbit 2 collection was free on GOG, so that brought me to the attention to also test it on my Apple Silicon Macbook Air. The recent port in Porting Kit, seemed to had no support for that, which made me re-look into the port with a fix for my M1 Apple Silicon Mac as a result :)!

But I went further then that. I am re-discovering the potentials and magic, MOD’s and patches can do, so I came eventually on the website of Jazz Jackrabbit 2 Resurrection made by someone’s alias is “Deathkiller”. He made a MOD which totally reimplemented the game with fixes, improvements and scaled widescreen support! Which changes the gameplay drastically for the good.

To make use of the cool Resurrection MOD, you need to to do a few extra steps which are also mentioned in the port description:
– Follow the basic GOG games install instructions.
– When basic install is totally finished, click in Porting Kit “More –> advanced tools –> browse C:”
– navigate to the “C:\GOG Games\Jazz Jackrabbit 2” folder and copy all the content.
– Navigate then to the “C:\Jazzrabbit2\source” folder and paste the content there and close the window.
– Now you can run the custom exe :) Have fun!

Furthermore I will make a video tutorial (which I will also add in the game port details in Porting Kit) and post that one today as well. Enjoy this golden oldie!
