Land of the Vikings for Mac

We end this week with another strategy game called Land of the Vikings for Mac! You like Banished? (also ported in Porting Kit), then you also love this game! Chop trees, plant and grow crops, hunt wildlife, mine ore and fish from the surrounding seas and fjords. From victuals to vikings, manage your resources carefully to ensure you can outlast the winter, and expand your settlement season to season. Each of your villagers is a character in their own right. With 20+ characteristics, your villagers might be powerfully-built strongmen and women or silver-tongued thespians. Pay attention to skills and abilities when assigning your people to a task. Not all Vikings are alike, nor are they equally good at all jobs! As you create better quality living and resources, your Vikings will become healthier and happier and your settlement will flourish!

About the Port:
The game is based on D3DMetal, so it only works on Apple Silicon Macs, when you at least are on Mac OS 14 Sonoma or higher. Performance on my M1 Apple Silicon (16GB) is very nice and played and tested it for a while without issues!

Porting Kit GOG Install Instructions:
– Make Sure you have Porting Kit installed on your Mac
– Make sure you logged in into GOG integration in Porting Kit (GOG account tab -> Login):
– If not: – Make sure you download the “Offline backup setup files” of Land of the Vikings from GOG into your download folder.
– Search the game in “all games” or “GOG Source” database.
– Click “Install” (Then next, next, you know the drill).
– Porting Kit will Install the GOG.com version of Land of the Vikings
– After install of the port, click exit to finish the installation process.
– Click play to start the game!
