New Application: D-fend Reloaded for Mac added to Porting Kit!

Very busy at the moment with all kind of fronts, Wineskin 3.0 on verge of release within Porting Kit (Some last features and tests/adjustments are getting done), CX24 which is on hold because of some serious bugs in the CX product, so we Codeweavers needs to address that issues first before we can make a stable engine. And there are some maintenance to be done still in a list of games. So, in short, lots of stuff in the background.

Nevertheless, I added another app port called D-fend Reloaded for Mac. That is a kind of GUI for DOSbox and Scummvm and more. I created that port to see if I could help someone with a specific DOS game. With success, it’s quite easy in use and with this port a lot of DOS games (not in the port database) can be played using that app port (check instructions). Check out the features of the application up here… While in theory there are tones of games which can be potentially played. We have no support on all the games which can be played on it. Most games will be straightforward to play, others will take some extra effort. I tested myself a few games where all files were in a folder, which were simply working great.

Remember that the game is an APP, and can be found in your “All Apps” tab and after install in the “installed” apps tab.

Basic DOS install instructions:
– Download the DOS game (game folder) you want and put it somewhere on your harddisk
– Open the d-fender reloaded application
– click file –> “import” –> “import folder” and select the game folder. This will import the game into d-fender.
– right-click on the game in the list and click “change/edit”
– Select “Display” (on lef) and change the “Fullscreen resolution” to the one you want.
– Change “renderer” to “opengl” and click ok.
– Now click “Run/Start” to play the game!
