Porting Kit 5.14.9 released with important fixes!
Great news! Probably the last update before Porting Kit 6!!! It contains some very important fixes (see whole list below), but one of the most important one is the fix for the main exes with steam installs on Mac OS versions lower then Ventura. Also in this release there is a better process kill implemented making the situation that there is “still a process busy” less likely to happen.
The update will require a few times restarting the app. Check to be sure when you are updated in the “About Porting Kit” info. If after one restart of Porting Kit the install process fails with a port. Restart Porting Kit one more time!

Changes since 5.13.8:
- Engines should be automatically replaceable by engines with a higher bit count
- Available disk size should be measured properly
- Minor fix in the download system from the installer window
- Adding Sonoma to the version filters of the editor window
- Dependencies in install window should be properly displayed in experimental mode
- Adding option to Preferences to show FPS counter
- Library now should identify which server apps use GPTK
- Adding blocker so PK will refuse to parse WSI files that are incompatible with it because they require a more recent PK version
- WSIs can now be configured so the recommended engine will be installed automatically
- Install winetrick step should have simplified labels unless the user is performing an advanced installatio
- PK should wait until alerts are closed before proceeding
- Adding GPTK support
- Engines should be properly sorted
- Update process of ports should have a timeout of 2 seconds before giving up, to avoid stucking the app on low speed internet connections
- Winetrick whose a file download failed should be properly identified
- Adding cleaning steps
- It should be possible to edit WSI files again
- Fixing macOS version filter
- Adding validation when saving WSI file to avoid creating a WSI which doesn’t target some of the supported macOS versions
- Steps should be filtered by system and video card at the beginning of the installation, to avoid issues
- Apple Video cards will no longer appear multiple times when listing the video cards
- Adding support to minimal window mode
- Improving option to export WSI3 files
- Installed ports now should automatically identify when they need to be updated
- Adding menu item to check needed resources
- The Porting Kit shouldn’t be blocked in incompatible macOS versions, only give a warning
- macOS 13.0 to 13.3 should be considered incompatible
- Option to kill Wineskin ports should be REALLY effective
- PK should only wait for processes that were launched from the port currently being created
- When installing a game/app using an EXE file, PK should wait until all Wine-related processes are ended before proceeding.
