Return to Mysterious Island 2 for Mac

Another adventure game has been added to Porting Kit: Return to Mysterious Island 2. The game is the successor of Mysterious Island which is also ported in Porting Kit. So if you like number 1, then you will also like the successor.

Intel based Macs:
I tested the game on my intel based Macbook Pro 2019 with AMD Radeon GFX card, and it works just flawless so far as I tested. Smooth graphics, great gameplay, really enjoyable. So for the Intel Based Macs this game is really a “must have” game if you like adventure games.

M1/M2 Apple Silicon Based Macs:
I tested the game also on my M1 Apple silicon Macbook Air on Mac OS Monterey 12.4, and it’s and it really playable, but a a little bit slower comparing to intel based Macs (but still really playable). So if you really love the game, this shouldn’t hold you back to play it on your M1 Apple silicon Mac.

Basic Portingkit Install Instructions GOG games:
1. Download the Return to Mysterious Island 2 “offline backup setup” file(s) into your download folder.
2. Always read the “notes” of the game description first for additional steps!
3. Go to the library server tab and select the game you want to install and click “Install”
4. Portingkit will create the wrapper and locate your setup file in your download folder
5. The installation of the game will start, run through the install wizard.
6. After installation, exit the installer (don’t run launch the game).
7. Porting kit will say it has finished successfully.
8. Go to your local library tab and select the game and click “play”!
9. Enjoy the game!

Game Description:
Mina’s rescue from the end of the first game is cut dramatically short and she and primate pal Jep are left again on the mysterious island to fend for themselves! Mina needs to dress her wounds and keep safe against the local wildlife, but now she has the assistance of the player controlled Jep who can fit in smaller spaces, move deftly through the jungle and even communicate with other animals in their bid to survive. Using even more combinations of items throughout the island, Mina and Jep will need to recover from their traumatic circumstances and find another way, any way, off the mysterious island!
