New Port: Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 for Mac

Yes finally! Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 for Mac has been added to Porting Kit :) We had the first 2 versions in the Porting Kit database for a long time already, but not the Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 version. But now (also because it was recently released on GOG.com) we added it after all! Control park finances, shops, services and staff to succeed in dozens of scenarios. Become a true tycoon and embark on your promising new career, or create your ideal park without money woes in sandbox mode. Satisfy your guests’ needs and keep your park running smoothly to succeed.

About the Port:
The game is based on Direct3D so it it works both on Intel Macs as on Apple Silicon Macs (I tested it myself with a an M4 Macbook Pro with 24GB RAM/VRAM), when you at least are on Mac OS 12 Monterey or higher Tested the game on my M1 Apple Silicon Macbook Pro and works in my tests.

Porting Kit GOG Install Instructions:
– Make Sure you have Porting Kit installed on your Mac
– Make sure you logged in into GOG integration in Porting Kit (GOG account tab -> Login):
– If not: – Make sure you download the “Offline backup setup files” of Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 from GOG into your download folder.
– Search the game in “all games” or “GOG Source” database.
– Click “Install” (Then next, next, you know the drill).
– Porting Kit will Install the GOG.com version of Rollercoaster Tycoon 3
– After install of the port, click exit to finish the installation process.
– Click play to start the game!

Important widescreen fix:

In order to play the game in widescreen do this: after install launch the game once and then close the game. Then go to “more” => open c: => users => Wineskin => appdata => roaming => frontier => RTC3 => open the “options.txt” and add the line “Resolution 1400 900” (without quotes) save and run the game again in full screen this time.
