Wrapper update: Anno 1701 startup fix Apple Silicon
Another game port fix for today. This time a startup fix has been implemented for Apple Silicon Macs for the game ANNO 1701. The game suffered from a startup error, which was caused because of the low-resolution of the game which the Apple Silicon Macs cannot handle. The ddraw fix implemented in the port, fixes the issue now. It still might require this fix though… nevertheless, after that, this game can be played on your apple Silicon Mac.
So if you experienced the issue as well in the past but didn’t report it, then please retry installing the game again and it should work again. If you don’t own the game yet, then get the game on GOG up here… and install it in Porting Kit and play!

When I played it on my MacBook Pro M2 I’ve noticed that in runs worse then the Anno 1701 History edition. Even on medium settings. Changing the resolution from higher to lower doesn’t even change much. It’s just laggy from the beginning especially when zooming in.
Do you know what’s the reason?
